Where can I find information about butter subscriptions?
PRODUCT STORAGE
What is the shelf-life of my American Dream Nut Butter and how should I store it?
All jars of American Dream Nut Butter now are imprinted with a Lot # and Expiration Date on the bottom of the jar; keep in mind that we handcraft each jar in small batches so expirations will vary from one jar to the next.
Unopened American Dream Nut Butter will remain fresh for up to a year, while opened jars retain peak freshness for about 6 months. Your handcrafted butters can be stored at room temperature and do not need to be refrigerated – although we highly suggest chilling Mint Dream if you’re a fan of fudge, trust us on this one!
What about oil separation?
Oil separation is completely normal, especially since our butter bases are created with all-natural fresh premium roasted nuts. (PS: many big brands use added oils to help extend shelf life and stabilize the mixture to prevent spreading, we don't!) A good stir is all you need to help the oils naturally blend, but keep in mind warmer temperatures do result in natural separation too.
Not a fan of separation? Our best tip is to store your unopened butter jars upside down. This should prevent the need for extra mixing when you open your jar for the first time.
NUTRITION & ALLERGIES
Are your butters gluten-free?
We’re so excited to continue serving you delicious, gourmet nut butters, now coming in two options! You’ll see them on the website over the next few weeks. We offer butters that are both with Gluten and Gluten-Free. Every Gluten-Free butter is labeled on our site. Butters that are Gluten-Free are made with 100% gluten-free products and ingredients. These butters are made in our Gluten-Free kitchen separate from other butters.
So, what exactly is the difference?
Butters that have Gluten have the same great taste, same nutrition and same amazing quality.
For example, instead of our usual gluten-free graham crackers, we’re using traditional graham cracker crumbles on our non gf option. That’s it! This change will not change the taste or the macros of your favorite butters AT ALL.
What is in your whey protein?
American Dream Nut Butter is proud to partner directly with a local, premium supplier of grass-fed whey protein. Because of our founder Lea's own dietary restrictions we sought out the cleanest possible whey protein for our butter blends, ensuring it would not only be easy on digestion but free of common inflammatory ingredients.
Our whey protein is 100% gluten-free, lactose-free and sweetened naturally with Stevia. No artificials, no thickeners or gums, just pure protein and natural flavors.
What about your toppings?
American Dream Nut Butter proudly sources all toppings for our 'fancy' blends from leading manufacturers including: Reese's, Hershey's, Ghirardelli, Enjoy Life Foods, Glutino and more. All ingredients for select toppings are transparently reported on our FDA-regulated nutrition labels, as shared by the original manufacturer.
We encourage customers to review our ingredient labels carefully to determine if you may have any intolerances, sensitivities or allergies before purchasing. Being a small batch food product, we cannot accept returns.
Do you offer vegan butters too?
We do offer a select vegan blends including Vegan Confetti Cake Pop, Vegan Cookie Batter and of course our Just Plain Nutty series. All plant-only blends are clearly marked as vegan-friendly and include 100% vegan ingredients.
Are your butters low in sugar?
Yes! All of our butter bases are lightly sweetened naturally, with Stevia. However, you may see trace amounts of additional sugars on the label where we clearly list the ingredients of any toppings used for our ‘fancy blends’. Items like chocolate, peanut butter or butterscotch chips, sugar crystals or crushed cookies may contain added sugars. When we add toppings to our nut butters, these are carefully weighed and measured out so that we can accurately report their nutritional content on our FDA-regulated labels.
What if I follow a whole foods diet? Do you have something for me?
Yes! Our Just Plain Nutty series was designed exactly for YOU! Just Plain Nutty butters are exactly as they sound – plain and simple. No added whey isolate, no fancy toppings or flavors. Just fresh, premium roasted nuts and pink Himalayan sea salt, that’s it! You get all the benefits of our signature drippy dreamy texture without the extras that may not align with your specific diet or lifestyle.
What if I'm allergic to peanuts/almonds/cashews?
Rest assured we understand allergies! Our founder Lea actually has a son who is allergic to peanuts, so we take sterilization seriously to avoid cross contamination while producing our nut butter blends.
We process one nut at a time, and never more than one nut per day. All equipment is broken down in between nuts, sanitized to the highest FDA regulations and dried completely before production begins again.
Our kitchen is monitored regularly by our local Indiana State Health Inspector and we have received a glowing review each and every time...something we are extremely proud of!
Why do I see certain ingredients like propylene glycol, palm oil and cornstarch?
Because our labels are regulated by the FDA we report every ingredient as accurately as possible, which means when we use special flavorings or toppings like sprinkles, chocolate chips, cereal, cookies, etc. we must report their ingredients too! We rely on manufacturers of our toppings to report accurately and oftentimes items like chocolate, cookies or candy will contain these ingredients. Not a fan? That’s okay! You can still enjoy our signature drippy dreamy, handcrafted butters without the extras by ordering from our Just Plain Nutty series!
What do you mean by natural flavor on the nutrition label?
ORDERS
My butter doesn’t have toppings, what gives?
All of our butters are handcrafted, packaged and stored in our temperature controlled kitchen, however we have absolutely no control over the jostling that may occur during shipping, or the temperature of your package’s final destination. This unfortunatley means that your jar(s) may experience metling, or toppings may settle. We always recommend you give each jar a good stir! (PS: Yes! We have considered more temperature-friendly packaging, and will continue to research potential solutions.)
Rest assured that we top each and every jar by hand - that allows us to maintain macro accuracy as well as maintain our founder, Lea's, uncanny attention to detail. However, we're human and mistakes may happen. Should you an experience an issue with your butter, please reach out to a member of Customer Support team directly by filing a claim, here.
My order is wrong, or an item is missing, what do I do?
We strive for perfection, but human error happens. We know how frustrating it may be to receive an incorrect order, so we'll be sure to make it right! Please direct all order or product issues to customersupport@americandreamnutbutter.com, allowing our team up to 48 business hours to respond back to your request.

My package was damaged, what do I do?
Nut butter should be fun...and delicious! From our Butter Shop to your spoon, we're in the business of delivering smiles. That means we protect EVERY package that leaves our shop against loss, damage and theft. Need to file a claim? To expedite your claim please have the following information readily available:
- Order number
- Copy of your invoice (aka order confirmation)
- Proof of shipping (UPS, USPS tracking, shipping confirmation email)
- Photo of the damaged product(s)
Please note, any damaged item outside of a 14 day window cannot be refunded.

I don't like my product, can I exchange or return?
“I don’t like it…” We rarely hear that, and for good reason! We are confident in our top secret handcrafted recipe, but we understand that in rare situations our drizzly texture or unique flavorings may not be for you. Check out our reviews to pick a blend that best suits you!
As a small batch food product, to ensure the health and safety of our team members and customers, we cannot accept the return of unopened, opened, or used product(s).
Can I apply a discount code after my order is placed?
Unfortunately, after the order is placed, there is no modifying the order or the payment options. We also encourage customers to double check the shipping address before placing your order.
Do you have any discounts or sales for first-time buyers?
We don’t run regular sales (aside from our annual Black Friday promotion!), but we always encourage you to keep an eye on our social media feeds in the event that we run a special promo.
We offer free shipping for new email subscribers on their first order. Simply complete the form that pops up when visiting americandreamnutbutter.com and you'll receive the free shipping code. Additionally, we occasionally offer exclusive deals and discounts through email. So be sure to sign up for our emails to stay in the loop about any special promotions or sales that may be happening.

My jars arrived with melted chocolate, what happened?
Chocolate melts. As temperatures warm up. Chocolate items and other heat-sensitive toppings may melt during shipping. If you choose to place an order for chocolate products when temperatures in your region are above 70 degrees, you do so at your own risk.
In the heat, we recommend that you ship your order to an address where someone will be available to accept your shipment immediately. We are not responsible for packages left outside after delivery where chocolate may melt.
Chocolate products that melt during the Summer months will not be eligible for returns or refunds.
SHOP PAY INSTALLMENTS
How do Shop Pay Installments work?
Think of Shop Pay as Shopify's native 'wallet' - it works similar to Apple Pay and Google Pay. If you have a store account created within the American Dream Nut Butter website, Shop Pay can be set to remember your shipping address, key contact info, and preferred method of payment.
Shop Pay Installments takes this one step further, by also allowing customers to place a large order, get it now, yet pay over time.
For orders over $50*, select installments at checkout to split your purchase into 4 interest-free payments. That means ZERO fees!
*Please note, orders must total $50 or more after discounts/coupons, taxes and shipping are applied.
Does using Shop Pay Installments impact my credit score?
Nope! If you choose to pay for your order in the recommended four biweekly installments, then your credit score is NOT impacted.
If you choose to pay for your order in monthly payments, and fail to make payments on time, then your credit score might be affected. Only monthly payment options might impact a customer's credit score, in addition to failed payment.

What happens if I am refunded for an order that uses Shop Pay?
If your refund amount is less than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect one or both of the following:
- A smaller payment balance on the final payment.
- Less future payments on the remaining loan balance.
If your refund amount is more than the amount remaining on your Shop Pay Installments balance, then you can expect to receive the difference as a refund to your original payment method.
Please note that if you request a refund for an order that you have already made monthly payments for, then your paid interest isn't refunded. Interest is the cost of borrowing, and isn't refundable. For more details, please visit: https://shoppay.affirm.com/help/s/
Can I add an item to an existing Shop Pay order?
If you add an item to an existing order made using Shop Pay Installments, then an invoice is created for the outstanding balance; this will be sent directly to you via the email provided at checkout.
You are required to pay for the outstanding balance in full using a different payment method because additional invoices are not supported by Shop Pay Installments.
Which payment methods are accpeted?
Shop Pay Installments is available for purchases made using a credit and debit card. Capital One cards aren't accepted.
Customers that choose a monthly payment option can only pay with a debit card.
DOMESTIC SHIPPING
I just ordered, how long until I receive my butters?
All of our butter is MADE FRESH to order by hand, here in our Indiana kitchen. Therefore it can take us 1-3 business days to craft, process and fulfill your order. We promise, it is worth the wait!
Please be aware that new product launches can add additional delays, as the volume of orders increases dramatically during the initial launch time.
With each product launch we always aim to begin shipping next-day, however depending upon where your order falls within the queue, fulfillment can take anywhere from 3-5 business days before your package is prepared to leave the shop.
Once packaged, we select either USPS or UPS for delivery. This decision is made based on a variety of factors including your location (rural vs. urban) and shipping carrier delays. Once your label is printed, you will receive and tracking information sent to the email you provided at check out.
We cannot control how long it takes USPS or UPS to deliver your package – impediments like weather, staffing or other issues are unknown to us. Occasionally packages have been damaged, lost or even stolen in transit as well. We encourage you to review all of our shipping guidelines here, and if you still have questions or an issue with an order please contact customersupport@americandreamnutbutter.com.
***Due to the overwhelming number of packages being processed through our local Greenfield USPS facility, processing and USPS tracking information can be delayed up to 7-10 days. USPS has communicated that packages may appear stagnant or in the 'pre-shipment' phase for longer than expected and tracking may not update until your order has been scanned at a larger USPS facility.
Where do you ship?
Currently we ship across the United States, Canada, the UK and Australia although shipping rates will vary. Please note when shipping internationally, custom rates may apply and will be at the expense of the customer.
Why is shipping so expensive?
Please keep in mind we are still a small business, run almost solely by family!
And as a small business, shipping is the largest obstacle we face. What we charge you, the customer, for shipping is actually less than what we pay – in some cases it costs us more to ship an order than the order is valued at.
Additionally, pandemic related inflation has caused shipping carriers to raise their postage and package fees cross the country. American Dream ships through UPS and USPS, 2022 published increases include: USPS Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express will increase on average 3.1% and UPS Ground and UPS Air services have increased an average of 5.9%
To ease shipping costs, we do offer free shipping on US orders over $75, after discounts//taxes.
My package is marked as delivered but it's not here, what should I do?
As with a damaged package, if you believe your package was stolen or inaccurately marked as delivered you will need to reach out to USPS directly.
Once a package leaves our warehouse for USPS processing, your order is out of our hands and delivery out of our control. To file a claim you may visit www.usps.com/help/claims.htm or call the Customer Care Center at 800-222-1811. You must be able to provide your original receipt and tracking number. *International customers, please see below for our international shipping disclosures.
If you have additional questions, please email customersupport@americandreamnutbutter.com for assistance and guidance on how best to file a shipping claim. Please report any shipping issues within 24 hours. We will not be able to address any issues that are reported after that time frame.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
I do not live in the United States, what do I do if my package is lost or undelivered?
Your shipping choice will impact our ability to assist with tracking. Please be advised that American Dream Nut Butter is not responsible for taxes and/or duties or any brokerage and/or delivery fees applied to international shipments. Also, we strongly recommend that you contact your customs office directly to inquire about import regulations before placing your order, as we will not be liable for packages refused or held for delivery. You are responsible for complying with international, national or local laws regulating the importation of products you may purchase.
What if my order is refused?
If an order is refused by customs, American Dream Nut Butter is not responsible for any losses or fees incurred by you, the customer. If a shipment is abandoned or discarded, you will not receive a credit of any kind. By ordering, you agree to these terms.
So, what is American Dream Nut Butter's role in international shipping?
American Dream Nut Butter is not responsible once your order leaves our facility. Please note, if you have selected First Class Shipping, that option DOES NOT include package insurance or advanced tracking information; we have always been fully transparent in disclosing that, as it is clearly stated at checkout. In the future, if you select Priority Mail, USPS will reimburse you if they lose or damage your package.
Please note, you will be responsible for filing a claim with USPS, this liability does not fall upon our company. Delivery issues or damage during transit are not our responsibility.

Do you offer sample sizes?
Looking to try before you commit to a full size jar? American Dream is proud to offer some of our most sought-after flavors in 4oz "Baby Butter" jars. We will be continually adding to our Baby Butter line-up over time, be sure to browse our current offerings here.
I don’t see my favorite blend? When are you planning on restocking?
It’s true, some of our best sellers – like Breanne’s Blend for example – sell out fast! And because we use carefully sourced ingredients and premium grass-fed, lactose-free whey supplements we often are at the mercy of our suppliers and manufacturers.
We encourage you to sign up for restock alerts if you see your favorite blend is currently out of stock, that way you’ll be the first to know when it’s available again!
Don’t see a blend you adore on the site anymore? Please note that we launch seasonal blends 4-5 times per year, and with each new season past limited editions will need to retire. Be sure to follow along on our social media to learn when your favorite limited editions may be making their comeback.
Why aren't Squeeze Packs offered in more blends?
Don't fret! We're always working on adding more flavors to our Squeeze Pack line.
However, please keep in mind we are unable to create Squeeze Packs out of flavors that have toppings. Due to the process of making Squeeze Packs, we are currently only able to make Squeeze Packs of blends that are topping free!

How do I earn loyalty points?
Earn 1 point for every $1 you spend online at americandreamnutbutter.com. Please note point accrual is only attributed to products (butter, apparel, gift cards, etc.) and is not associated with shipping costs or tax. Each time you spend, you will receive an email with your updated loyalty points balance.
There are also plenty of other ways to earn loyalty points under the 'Earn' tab of your loyalty profile, including leaving a product review or referring a friend.
Use your loyalty points to redeem rewards, or save them up to unlock even more exciting discounts.

MERCHANDISE
Can I exchange my apparel if it does not fit?
Unfortunately, because all apparel is currently offered in limited quantities and pressed to order, at this time we are not able to offer exchanges. We recommend requesting a refund for the item you'd like to return by emailing customersupport@americandreamnutbutter.com. Once your return is received at the Butter Shop and processed, you will receive a refund back to your original payment method. Customers are responsible for paying to reship apparel returns.
To prevent any issues with sizing we recommend you review the size charts, fabrication, features and any garment notes on the product landing page. This is especially important for our tees, which may include unisex sizing, relaxed and fitted styles.
What if my apparel is damaged?
We apologize that you received a damaged item. Please send a photo of the damaged product to customersupport@americandreamnutbutter.com along with your Order # and contact information and we would be happy to help you with a resolution. Please note, any damaged item outside of a 90 day return window cannot be returned or refunded.
LOCATION & PICKUP
Do you have a storefront?
At this time we do not have a storefront location. However, as we continue to expand we have plans to develop a storefront attached to our new warehouse location, located outside of Indianapolis, Indiana.
Do you currently offer local pickup?
We now offer local pickup! Visit our website and begin to place your order like normal. At checkout, when choosing a shipping option, select local pickup. There is no extra cost to pickup!
You will receive an order confirmation email with you order number. Within 2-4 days, you will receive another email letting you know your order is ready for pickup. Orders need to be picked up within 3 business days of receiving confirmation that your order is ready for pickup.
If you are unable to pick up your order within 3 business days, please contact our customer service team to let them know when you are able to pick up your order. Our customer service team can be reached via message or email customersupport@americandreamnutbutter.com.
Have your order number ready and park in the designated spots marked for curbside pickup. Once you have arrived, please call the number on the sign to let us know you are here to pickup your order. A butter shop employee will be out to hand deliver your fresh, handcrafted nut butters!

What do I do when I arrive to pick up my order?
There will be designated parking spots for curbside pickup for you.
Once you have parked, please call the number on the sign and let them know you are there to pickup your order and have your name and order # ready.
Hence "curbside" we will bring your order out to you, so no need to get out of your car.
As much as we wish we could let you see where all the butter magic happens, we are not allowing anyone into the butter shop.
Also, due to COVID-19, we want to keep the butter shop as safe and sanitary as possible.

I’d love to become an official ambassador, where do I sign up?
At American Dream Nut Butter our ambassadors are like family! When the ambassador program began, our founder Lea hand-picked each and every one. An American Dream Nut Butter Ambassador doesn’t need to have a huge social media fan base or be an expert content creator, honestly you just need to love our butters as much as we do and be willing to share that with others!

Do you currently offer wholesale?
At this juncture we are not pursuing wholesale or distribution inquiries.
At the heart of our brand is a family, passionate about handcrafting high quality products, direct to consumer. That means the jars you receive are always fresh, never sitting on a store shelf or boxed up in a distribution center. To maintain this promise, all American Dream products are created, packaged and shipped directly from our very own hands.
Additionally, due to the rising cost of premium ingredients, labor needs and overall pandemic-related inflation we have had to make the decision to pause on wholesale. Our primary focus is serving our loyal butter family who orders directly from our website.
GIVING
What charities have you supported?
Lea and Mark started American Dream Nut Butter with the goal of making a serious impact on not only their community, but the world. As a company we have been lucky enough to be a part of and raise money for a number of veterans’ charities and causes close to our heart.
In addition we have donated locally to InteCare, Riley Children’s Hospital and more. Most recently we made a donation to the George Floyd Memorial Fund to help fight social injustice and racism.
In 2021, we created our second charity butter, One Tough Cookie Cashew Butter, and have pledged to donate 100% of sales throughout the month of October to Living Beyond Breast Cancer, honoring those who have been impacted by breast cancer.

How else do you give back?
At American Dream Nut Butter, it’s no surprise that we support our troops and honor our veterans, which is why we launched our Care Package Program that allows YOU to nominate your own personal hero! Email carepackage@americandreamnutbutter.com with the name and mailing address for a veteran or active duty soldier and we’ll send them a free nut butter care package. We gladly accept APO addresses as well!

Do you offer gift cards?
